OTHER THINGS YOU CAN LEARN WITH US
PARTNER
TRAINING
  • Have you got a partner who is not sure about flying? Doesn’t understand what is going on in the cockpit? Wants to know what you are doing?
  • Do you sometimes wish you had someone to share the flying with? Someone to share the workload with?
We have courses designed to answer these questions.
  • You remain the pilot in command, we train your partner in the co-pilot seat to any desired level of competence, whether that be to solo standard or all the way to commercial pilot.
  • Feel safe in the knowledge that if anything should happen to you, your partner can safely get the aircraft back on the ground.

AIRCRAFT TYPE
RATINGS
At Ace Aviation we have a unique variety of aircraft in which you can obtain ratings:
  • Piper Cub and Pacer
  • Cessna 180
  • De Havilland Chipmunk and Tiger Moth
COMMERCIAL
PILOT
LICENCE
The minimum age at which you are able to hold a CPL is 18 years and you must hold a current Class 1 Medical Certificate. The minimum flight time required to be logged is 200 hours.
  • 100 hours as pilot in command
  • 30 hours cross country navigation, which is to include 20 hours dual instruction.
The 20 hours of instruction must be completed within a 12-month period
  • 10 hours instrument time, of which 5 hours must be dual instruction.
On average, students can expect to take between 40 and 50 hours to prepare for the commercial pilot licence flight test. We have no set course dates; students may commence flight training at a time convenient to them.
The commercial pilot licence is the basic entry qualification to the aviation industry. Students usually need to obtain additional specialist ratings before becoming employable.
